Barefoot Caravanning

(is a caravan worth it)

About Us

Hello to everybody. We were sitting at home wondering how we could continue our adventures, while juggling a young family, fulltime work and not a lot of money to live like retirees. Anyway we went away for a two night trip up the Daintree and counting food, accommodation and fuel the two nights nearly cost us $1000. This got us thinking about a few questions, such as is a caravan really worth the money? Are we too young to caravan? can you even caravan with a young family and fulltime work?

Anyway long story short, we figured you only live once so why not give caravanning a crack. So, we have brought ourselves a caravan and this site is to blog all our travels and more importantly to detail the costs and savings involved and determine once and for all IS A CARAVAN WORTH IT?
